Locals Respond To NY State Senate’s... 05 December 2009

Amidst the mounting swirl of controversy over President Obama’s decision to escalate the U.S.’s military presence in Afghanistan (not to mention ongoing developments in debates over health care and climate change), the New York State Senate created a furor of its own this week with its 38-to-24 vote to reject a bill that would have made New York the sixth state to legalize gay marriage.

Bop Shop Concert Season Closes w/ Dav... 01 December 2009

The first half of the 2009-2010 Bop Shop concert series comes to a close Wednesday night with an appearance by saxophonist Dave Rempis and drummer Frank Rosaly, who have played together since 2001 in several groups – including The Outskirts, the Thread Quintet, and the Ingebrigt Håker-Flaten Quintet – and have been performing as a duo since 2004.
